Loving Jesus and America Too

I have a love for Jesus that shapes my soul and guides my steps. And a love for this country that is my home, my heritage, and a place where I’ve been free to live out my faith boldly.
It’s because of my faith that I feel a deep gratitude for the country where I can share the gospel openly, raise my family with biblical values, and pray without fear.
Loving America doesn't mean I think it's perfect. It means I care enough to want better—for all of us. It means I pray for our leaders, I vote my values, and I do my best to be a light right where I am. It means I teach my kids both the beauty and the brokenness of our nation, always pointing them back to the hope we have in Jesus.
Because the truth is: no nation will ever be our ultimate home. Our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). But while we’re here, we’ve been called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13–16). To speak truth in love. To seek justice. To walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8). And yes—to be grateful.
May we be a people who remember that loving Jesus calls us to be good citizens—not because our nation is flawless, but because our God is faithful.
And in a time when lines are drawn and loyalties are questioned, maybe we can show the world what it looks like to love both well: our Savior and our soil.
Let’s be the kind of people who pray boldly, live faithfully, and wave our flags with humility—knowing the only banner that will never fall is the one marked by the cross.
